Shobbak appreciates your concern about the privacy of your data. This policy has been prepared to help you understand what data we collect from you when you visit our platform and how we treat this data.

 

Given name(s), preferred name, and pictures (if provided); that will be viewable to users as your account’s name.

Your user name on the platform is public and visible to all users and can be shared publicly. 

Contact details: address, telephone number, and email address will be collected to authenticate your account and keep it - and our services - secure, and to help prevent spam, fraud, and abuse.

We also use contact information to enable certain account features (for example, login verification), to send you information about our services, and to personalize our services. If you provide us with your phone number, you agree to receive text messages from Shobbak to that number as your country’s laws allow.

Resume: The user can upload their resume in the profile section of the platform where it will be captured and used whenever the user wants to apply for a job post in the platform. The resume will not be shared with any other parties or job posts without the user’s consent and knowledge.

Device information: We collect your device information such as the authentication key.

Language: We collect language preferences so that when a user chooses the language they prefer to use on the platform, all content will be sent to them using their preferred language.

Email and support: If you email us, we will keep the content of your message, your email address, and your contact information to respond to your request.

 

To make money collection from the user’s wallet in the platform safe and secure, the user must fill out Abshir’s Governmental form with the user’s legal name and Bank details to send the money to the chosen bank account.

An integration with Absher platform decreases fraud & scam cases.

 

The user may provide us and the third party with payment information, including the credit or debit card number, card expiration date, CVV code, and billing address, to make a payment or other offerings provided as part of our services. If you make a payment or send money using Shobbak features, or services or through an intermediary, we may receive information about your transaction such as its creation date or when a subscription is set to expire or auto-renew.

Purchase history:

The user’s purchase history inside the platform will be viewed only by the user and no other user nor third party can access this information and the history will be stored in the platform.

Users can contact each other in the in app-chat if the user enabled it. The chat contains any of the following: (text, photos, videos, audio files such as voice notes, or any other music files)

All content will not be accessed by anyone other than Shobbak. No other users can view the user’s private chat.

In-app chat will be captured and not deleted even if the users archived the chat channels.

The chat channel can be permanently deleted when the user deactivates and deletes their account.

To authenticate the user’s account, an email from Shobbak will be sent to the user.

To authenticate the user’s phone number,  an OTP Code will be sent via SMS to the user.

Personal data such as phone number and email will be shared with a third party for logistics and delivery reasons only, your information will not be stored with them, but rather temporarily used.

 

The microphone can be used in the in-app chat to contact other users, and it will not be accessed otherwise.

The camera can be used in the in-app chat to share photos or videos with other users and also will be used when taking photos or videos while creating an ad on the platform. The Camera will not be used nor accessed in other cases.

Photos and video captured will be stored in the platform and will not be shared with third parties.

 

We get the location data from signals such as your IP address or device settings

The user’s approximate location will be captured when a user shares an ad in the app.

The user’s precise location will be shared with the logistics/delivery third party only and will not be shared with other users.

 

The platform will track the user’s activity in the platform; such as search words, ads, and the number of opened chats in the platform.

 

Shobbak is a public platform and any ad that is immediately posted on the platform will be published and visible to everyone on the platform.

Ads that contain illegal or inappropriate content will be rejected from the platform.

Orders sent or received from or to a user will be documented and captured in the platform but not shared with any third party or other users in the platform.

Likes on any post in the app will be captured and documented and not shared with any third party.

Search history will be captured and documented to provide the user a better and improved experience, all data in search history will not be shared with any third parties.

The links that you interact with are kept track of to operate and improve our services. This includes links in emails sent by us or shared through our support section.

We may collect your preferences from your likes, search history, and orders sent to provide you with a better and more customized experience.

 

When a user creates a business account in the app, information about the business and the owner will be gathered; (business name, email,  phone number, activity type, and formal documents required for legal purposes to verify that this is a real business standing to eliminate fraud. Furthermore, the business account can connect their social media accounts - optional)

 

We implement encryption at transit and encryption at rest to protect user’s data

 

Shobbak is a platform that enables users to sell and buy anything. Users and businesses can share their ads on the platform to sell products, properties, and/or services. Shobbak may use third parties to increase the number of ads on the Shobbak platform.

Our services are not directed to children, and the user may not use our services if they are under the age of 13. The user must also be old enough to consent to the processing of their data in their country (in some countries we may allow a parent or guardian to do so on the child’s behalf).

 

You may ask us to delete or remove your personal Data/Account:

To do so,

 

You have 30 days to restore your account by logging back before it gets permanently deleted.

1. Your ads will be permanently deleted and not viewable by any user. 

2. Your orders/offers will no longer be active.

3. All chat channels will be viewable only by the users in the same chat channel.

4. All account data will not be viewable by any user but will be archived by Shobbak.

5. Kindly withdraw all remaining amount in your wallet, after account deletion you will not be able to withdraw any amounts.

 If you activate your account, your ads and chat channels will be restored, and you will be able to withdraw any remaining amount in your wallet.

 Note: Shobbak will keep chat channels, ads, and orders' data archived for legal reasons but they will not be accessible by any user.

 

 

 Consent records: records of any consent you may have given, together with the date and time, means of consent, and any related information (e.g. the subject matter of the consent).

Employer details: where you interact with us in your capacity as an employee, the name, address, telephone number, and email address of your employer, to the extent relevant.

Views and opinions: any views and opinions that you choose to send to us.

In processing your personal data in connection with the purposes set out in this notice, we may rely on one or more of the following legal bases, depending on the circumstances:

Consent: We may process your personal data where we have obtained your prior, express consent to the processing (this legal basis is only used concerning entirely voluntary processing – it is not used for processing that is necessary or obligatory in any way);
